R.R. v. M/V W.R. II Longshoreman injured by faulty cable on crane. We caused ship to be arrested by U.S. Marshals at 1am, Sunday morning, as it was attempting to flee into international waters to avoid liability. Case settled days prior to trial
C.P., et al., v. M/V Altair, we were retained by the family of a Longshoreman killed in a crane accident. Learning that the ship was hurriedly off-loading in an attempt to escape into open sea and avoid liability for the accident, we posted a bond and filed pleadings resulting in the immediate arrest of the vessel by the U.S. Marshal. After a hearing, the ship's owner was required to post a $3 million bond in order to secure the ship's release.
